Harvesting Honey

Extracting raw honey from a hive is messy business. It took us 4 full days using an antique applesauce strainer that grandma Thornton gave us.

I think what is more rewarding than caring for these creatures and being blessed by what their little bodies can do… is pulling up our sleeves to put in the hard work of doing it by hand. No fancy extractors. No filters. No heat. 100% raw.

It won’t be as pretty as store bought and I like it better that way.
