The Building of a Greenhouse… Stinks.
Not a little… but a lot.
This “project” took 4 full days. And if it weren’t for our dear friends coming out in 27F temps to screw all of the tiny pieces in place.. it would still be in boxes. And a huge thank you to my mom for coming to watch children while we worked. And also to my bestie for keeping me sane, and distracting our kids during the final touches.
In full disclosure, Luke (and the guys) did 98% of the work. I have very little to gripe about.
We chose a climapod for several reasons.
1. It has pretty high ratings for hail and strong wind tolerance. And we live in Kansas, so...
2. The length allows me to start seed trays in the front half, and plant lettuce in the back half... win, win.
3. The kit came with automatic windows and a ventilation fan, which means that I don’t have to run outside at 2am when the temp suddenly drops below freezing.
But the neatest thing of all is watching Henry (age 7)... reading instructions & checking measurements & grabbing parts & bonding with the guys. Because that’s really what all of this is for.
