My Tiny Corner of the World

This is my tiny corner of the world. It is usually full of sourdough or fresh pasta or homemade bagels. It’s where I come to work with my hands and think. Lately I’ve been thinking about our life here in small town Kansas.

We have chosen a simple existence. Simple, but not easy. It has taken 6 years of slow changes to get here. We grow our own food & raise much of our own meat. We buy dry goods in 50lb bags and go grocery shopping in the basement. Nothing in this kitchen is fast and meals are planned a month at a time.

And I am so very grateful. Grateful for this amazing little town, living this simple life, surrounded by the best friends anyone could ask for.

I’m learning that I don’t want to be big. I don’t want to do it all, or be it all, or achieve it all, or own it all. I want to be small. To take the few simple things we do, and do them well. And to share what we learn along the way.

Love you guys.
