Accidental Potatoes
Our potato crop last year was dismal at best. We tried growing in raised beds full of compost and they just didn’t do well.
Our family easily eats 5 lbs of potatoes a week, which means the winter potato storage ran out in November.
This year we moved the potatoes into the new market garden and I am very pleased at our crop. Not only do we have enough to feed our family all winter, but we also have extra to sell at the market.
But this little potato right here… he was accidentally left in the raised bed from last year, which was taken down in the fall… it is overgrown with weeds and grass, has received ZERO water, yet still managed to produce something amazing.
It just goes to show that we really have very little control over any of it.
