We have no idea what we’re doing…

And we are having the best time!

Guatemala, 2007 - atop a scaffold, atop a Mountain, atop a Mayan Ruin

This is where it started. Guatemala, 2007. Luke and I were babies back then, living on love, pennies, and adrenaline. Finding pure joy in everything life had to offer.  We found a common love for the outdoors and for international ministry.  We spent time with the Central American people, learning their connections to the land and their way of life.  We watched them harvest beans and gather as families to shell them. They worked and cooked and ate together as a community. And we knew that our future together included pieces of this simple life and the truths that they shared.

In 2021, our dream became a reality. I quit my job as an ICU pharmacist and started planting trees. Fruit trees to be exact. Not only that, these trees are tended holistically, without any chemicals or synthetic fertilizers. It hasn’t been an easy transition and the learning curve is STEEP. But we are living as close to the earth as we can, walking the orchard as the blooms first pop, listening to the happy honey bees as they buzz from flower to flower. We have no idea what we’re doing and we are having the most amazing time doing it. These are the days I wouldn’t trade for anything.
